Our second stop on our road trip is St. Pete Beach in Florida. This city is just thirty minutes down the road from Clearwater Beach so we had some time to do some shopping between check out and check in. We stopped off at a local Super Target for some shopping fun. I love Target, I feel like a kid in a candy store. We entered the store when it was hot and sunny. When we were leaving the store it was pouring rain. Not the type of rain storm I’m use to back home but a torrential rain that gets you soaked running ten feet to your car.

We drove about 20 minutes down the road and into hot sun again. It’s the strangest weather down here in Florida. It can rain like cats and dogs for a half and hour and then a few minutes later it doesn’t even look like it rained.

We reached our next hotel at about 4pm. We decided to treat ourselves to a lush hotel called the Don Cesar in St. Pete Beach. It’s a Loews brand hotel. I tell you, if you have a chance to stay at a Loews hotel you won’t be disappointed! If you are looking for a great pampering experience this hotel is a must. I will talk more about the hotel in another post…

We checked in to our room, got changed into our bathing suits and went down to the pool. Within ten minutes my daughter had met a little girl and they began playing together.

I always think it is so nice how little kids can make friends so quickly and easily. When do we lose this ability? I am always open to talking to people. I enjoy learning about people but I don’t always initiate conversations with people. I sometimes wish we didn’t lose this friend making ability as adults.
